“WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE WHEN MY JESUS I SHALL SEE.”
What reassuring words the song writer wrote above. But is that true for everyone? So many go through life with out giving it a thought.
Today, I picture myself as the Jester who rode in the chariot behind the returning conquering Roman General returning to the city of Rome in a parade of victorious majesty. Get the picture, the general basking in all his victorious splendor, parading all the spoil of riches and slaves won in his battles. But the Jester stood behind him dressed in his costume of a “fool” ringing his bell, to remind the great General that he was still human, not a god, and that he too would sooner or later see death!
Tomorrow at Heart of America Church, the Lord willing, I will begin a two part Message entitled:
“IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE AND AFTER THAT THE JUDGMENT.”
A reminder, as the Jester reminded the General he too must die, Jesus reminds us in Luke 16:19-31 that there is life after death. Read it for yourself, and then come to Heart of America tomorrow and experience the first part of this two part Message: “IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE AND AFTER THAT THE JUDGMENT.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”.
