26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
I had a lady in our Church once who always said, “ I have all the faith in the world, I don’t understand why things are as they are.” She said this so much, I got tired of it so I said to her, “You might have all the faith in the world, but you need to put it to practice.” She took note of what I said and as time went bye she became a woman of faith. She and her husband were going to start a heard of Black Angus Cattle, they spent $5,000.00 on a young bull, who turned out to be sterile. It did not impede her faith. She came to the Church and asked if she could have some anointing oil, she went home and anointed that bull in the name of Jesus and prayed the prayer of faith over him. Several months went by and soon there were little calves running over their fields that looked just like their daddy. How happy the lady was. In talking about what she had done she said, “ I thought if a little oil on the head would do good, I’ll just anoint him all over.” She did and her faith was honored by our Lord. She finally learned how to use her faith, she began put it to practice.
The Prophet James, said above, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, “…faith without works is dead…” Do you remember the woman in Mark 5, who had the issue of blood? She had said earlier, “If I may touch but his clothes I shall be whole. V.28” What she said was good, but she had to do more, she had to practice her faith V. 27, “…she came in the press behind and touched his garment.” She put her faith to work. Consider the ten lepers in Luke 17, they cried out to Jesus, “…Jesus master, have mercy on us.” All Jesus did was speak words words to them He said, “…Go shew yourselves unto the priests…” The Bible records,”…And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.”
Faith is putting our belief in God and His Word to work!
