The Angel’s announcement to the humble shepherds was in keeping with the birth of the Son of God. He was not born in splendor, but rather in a humble stable with a manger as his crib. Sheperds were at the bottom of the of the economical ladder, but they were faithfully watching over their sheep by night. Suddenly the sky was lit up with the brilliance of angelic glory, what a sight it must have been, the shepherds quaked in fear, wondering what all this could mean. The angelic spokesman’s voice split the night’s sky saying, 10”… Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,’ 14  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’ Luke 2:10-14 (KJV)

As the angelic host disappeared into heaven, the shepherds quickly went into Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph and the baby, Jesus, lying in a manger, and they made known abroad the things told them concerning this child.

All that heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them!!!
